Sharing Sunday

Arwen | Sharing Sunday

I chose a mortal life.

Arwen
Liv Tyler as Arwen in the Blood Red dress from Lord of the Rings : Return of the King.

A long time ago, on a website far, far away, I used to do this thing I called “Sharing Sunday” which was essentially a celebration of some costumes I’d found on the net of a character I had recently made or was planning to make myself. I’d also always try and feature a fellow Kiwi maker too. I thought it’s about time I brought it back, and yes I know it’s not Sunday today as I post this, but hopefully future posts will be.

So without any further ado, her are some absolutely incredible Arwen costumes I’ve found.

Austynlarkam

LOOK. AT. THOSE. SLEEVES. I think that is something that will be popping up a lot in this post. I’m absolutely in awe at the sheer size of them. Don’t they make Austynlarkam look so ethereal? And the pose as well. Very thousand year old being vibes.

Mimistitchcraft

From winter to autumn. I love how the colors of the seasons make the dress pop. And notice the detail of the book? Perfection!

Also, sleeves.

C0c0cosplay

Another Autumn Arwen, another dress that pops in the colors. I love that you can see her elf ears! (Something I didn’t even bother with in my own version because my hair was too thick). C0c0cosplay looks beautiful.

Starbitcreations

Starbitcreations is one of my favorite cosplayers. We’ve done so many of the same characters. She’s absolutely perfect as any character he chooses to recreate but I think they look divine as Arwen. I love they way the edited the photo to make it look so dreamy.

Leiaaurora

Leiaaurora is a new costumer discovery I’ve made but I’ve quickly fallen in love with their whole catalogue of work. I found their account through patternreview.com where they share very helpful reviews of the patterns they use to create their masterpieces. The was also so kind in helping me out with the sleeves of my own Arwen outfit.

Kelldar

Keller IS my most favorite costumer of all time. She’s such a massive inspiration to me. Somehow though, I had missed this costume entirely until by happenstance, it appeared on my instagram feed the day I started writing this.

As with everything she does, it’s perfection. Look at the drama, look at those sleeves!

Padme_Andrea

Another new costumer discovery to me, and I know it’s not the Blood Red dress but look at it. I couldn’t leave it out. Not only is her riding gown gorgeous, but she’s literally on a horse. That’s dedication!

Divarogue

Once again, not the Blood Red dress but I couldn’t find another Kiwi who had done it yet (please feel free to correct me if you know of one!) I got to see this incredible piece up close and the sheer amount of work that went in to it is mind blowing! I especially love the embroidery they did on the sleeves and that they recreated the Gondor banner as well. Divarogue never disappoints.

And here is a sneak peak from the photoshoot Anna Terwiel Photography and I did at Waipu Caves recently. This particular stretch of path looked so much like the “Get off the road” scene from the Fellowship of the Ring that we had to take a snap here.

Be sure to check out the rest of the photos here

I do hope you enjoyed this post and I’m quite excited to bring back this segment!

Until next time…
