Jessica Rabbit | Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Made for : Hamilton Armageddon Expo 2014
Background : Who Framed Roger Rabbit was one of the reasons I got a degree in animation. I was always enthralled by how they mixed live action with 2d animated characters. And part of me identified with Jessica and her quote “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.” It’s honestly amazing how different people treat you when you dress in clothing that accentuates your body shape. I mean – “You don’t know how hard it is being a woman looking the way I do.” It’s amazing how confident I felt in this costume, as it was so different to my everyday wear!
Things used :
- red sequin dress
- purple gloves
- nude high heels
- orange Arda Matilda wig
- pink glitter
Wig : I’ve forgotten the exact shade of orange that I got but it was a Matilda lacefront brought from Arda Wigs. It was too bright, I wanted something a bit more natural but I couldn’t afford to return it.
All I did to style it was back comb the fringe a bit and pin it to one side.
Dress : I purchased a red sequin dress from eBay. I altered it by taking in the sides and lengthening the leg split so it started at the top of my leg. Then I added some gemstones for extra sparkle.
Shoes : I brought some nude pumps from Number One Shoes. I covered them with Ados spray glue and then dumped several bottles of pink glitter on them. I should have sealed them but I didn’t realize that was a thing you could/should do yet.
