Alright, it’s been a stupidly long time since I put this costume together so I’ll do my best to try and remember how it was done.
The main parts of the costume were thrifted, the tailcoat jacket, bowtie shirt and pants. Other parts such as the gloves, bowtie, suspenders, cummerbund, silver grills and flower were brought. When the costume was first worn in 2016, I used a fresh flower for the lapel each day. In 2017 I swapped it out for a fabric flower.
In 2016 I brought a wig from Arda Wigs it was a Cady in the shade Jade. My hair dresser friend then transformed it in to the iconic Jared Leto style as seen in the film. In 2017 we dyed and cut his real hair instead.
All the tattoos were made/curated by me in photoshop and then printed on to temporary tattoo paper. Though some were drawn by hand on the day with a faux tattoo pen, mainly the larger ones.
The one thing I did make from scratch was the white suit vest. I used Butterick B6339 view F as the base. I altered a tiny bit by adding points to the bottom front edge. It was made from a white satin and white wool suiting fabric.
His gun and cane were also made at one point but as I have no photos of them at all, forget I even mentioned it.
This was such a fun costume and got a lot of wear out of it. I loved that it went with three different Harley’s of my own.
