The crocheting is going very well. I made my friend Anna, a Charmander for her birthday, and I made my husband a GIGANTIC Slowpoke for lounging purposing. Its size was definitely intentional and not at all a lesson in learning that yarn size really, really matters. Both of these Pokemon are patterns from the Pokemon Crochet books.

I then made my first non-book Pokemon, this chonky chu by yurupenguin. I absolutely could not pass up on trying to make the round boy. He reminded me so much of my old Pikachus I used to have in the 90s.

But I haven’t just been making plushies. I ventured out in to starting a crochet clothing piece for an upcoming project. One I’ve been hoarding fabric for a remake for years. I’ve decided it’s finally time to make my Penelope Wilhern costume.
I know her scarf is knitted in the film, but look, I’ve tried to learn how to knit and it’s never made sense in my brain, crochet though….

I’m using a pattern I found on Ravelry by Sarah Alby and so far, I’m just over a third of the way done. I’m quite proud of it as it was the only part of the costume I wasn’t able to make myself the first time.
As for the White Queen, I’ve completed the top portions, ie the shirt, sleeves and corset.

I also managed to find the screen accurate nail polish from the film. It’s Essie in the shade Bordeaux. I was shocked it was still in production.

I’m hoping to do a makeup test as part of this weeks progress video because I also have some new white foundation I’d like to try out for her. So be sure to look out for that in the coming week.
Let me know if there are any Pokemon you’d like to see me try hand at crocheting!
